Stone Sour mainman Corey Taylor has teamed up with Dark Horse comics to launch a four-issue mini-series revolving around the rock group’s forthcoming double set, House of Gold and Bones. Now, Corey is no stranger the comic book fun, and the frontman says his passion for great comics is why he was determined to put something together for the upcoming album.
“It's something I’ve always wanted to do,” Taylor told USA Today regarding the comic book series. “I’ve always been very critical of when comics go south and basically pull the fan out of what the potential is. It’s me pretty much putting my money where my mouth is.”
It sounds like the comic book series will be just as delightfully twisted as Taylor’s tracks, with the singer commenting that the episodes will be “set in this crazy world where nothing’s really what it seems, but at the center of it is really a concept about life and evolution and changes.”
Intrigued? Fans won’t be able to score the comic book series right away, as the first issue won’t be out until April 17, 2013. Stone Sour’s new music, though, is almost here. House of Gold & Bones Part 1 is slated to drop on Oct. 23, while the second album, House of Gold & Bones Part 2, is anticipated to arrive in early 2013.
Do you prefer Corey Taylor rocking it with Stone Sour or his other main band, Slipknot? I, personally, am a Stone Sour kind of girl. Give your opinion in the comments section below!
