Doug Aldrich Leaves Whitesnake
Guitarist Doug Aldrich has announced his departure from Whitesnake after more than a decade as David Coverdale’s right-hand man.
But it seems like it was as friendly a departure as one could hope for, with the kind words flowing back and forth between Aldrich and Coverdale on social media. Aldrich wrote on his Facebook, “Thanks to my big bro David for such a killer run together! So many songs, tours, projects, always inspiring and pushing each other! Mostly I want to thank the loyal WS Choir and fans around the world. You have been so amazing to me and it’s been an honor to play for you with WS.”
Meanwhile Coverdale Tweeted: “I celebrate the amazing time we spent together, writing music and performing. I had the best of times with him,” and “All the very best, Brother. What an incredible journey we shared together. Wishing you success in everything you do.”
Aldrich hasn’t revealed his next musical move, other than to say that he has no plans at this time to go solo. And Coverdale has yet to reveal Whitesnake’s guitarist plans.
Who would you like to see join Reb Beach as co-guitarist in Whitesnake?
