Duff McKagan to Join Pearl Jam Guitarist for Symphony Performance
Duff McKagan is set to join Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready for a one-off performance with the Seattle Symphony next year. As reported by Classic Rock , the concert will take place January 30 as part of an event titled Sonic Evolution.
The purpose of the event is to celebrate Seattle’s rich musical history with brand new symphonic compositions inspired by the work of Nirvana, Pearl Jam and other rock and rollers who hail from the city. McKagan told VH1 Radio, “Mike brought something up about it a couple of months ago and I’m pretty tight with Mike. We’ve been good buddies since we were 16. It might be him and [me] and [drummer] Barrett Martin.”
McCready made a guest appearance on the 2012 self-titled album by Walking Papers, the Seattle-based band that includes McKagan, Barrett, singer-guitarist Jeff Angell and keyboardist Benjamin Anderson.
