British melodic rock band FM is currently in the studio recording the follow-up to their 2010 album, Metropolis.
The band checked in with Gibson.com to share this photo from the studio, of Merv Goldsworthy laying down tracks with his new Gibson Les Paul five-string bass.
Merv is a longtime Gibson bass user, using several Thunderbirds. (For more Gibson basses, click here).
Meanwhile, the band has recently reissued its 1986 debut album, Indiscreet and the follow-up, Tough it Out, in special edition 2-CD sets featuring 24-bit remastering from the original source tapes, bonus tracks, a 3,500 word essays about the making of the albums, new interviews with the band, enhanced artwork and additional photos.
FM’s Indiscreet song “That Girl” was covered by Iron Maiden as a B side to their single “Stranger in a Strange Land.”
