Gibson Brands’ inaugural “AP Music Awards” fueled by Monster Energy Drink has proven to be a viral smash. In the days following the July 21 event, reaction numbers and fan response have flooded social media sites and the Internet in general.

The enthusiastic response comes as no surprise, as the event featured appearances by the likes of Slash, Joan Jett, Fall Out Boy and New Found Glory. More than 6,000 people attend the event, which was held at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland to honor a variety of stellar artists. For 24 hours plus, the APMAs trended #1 worldwide through Facebook & Twitter, with an overall 1 billion combined impressions including Instagram, Vine, Tumblr. and YouTube. A two-hour special, “Best of Alternative Press Music Awards,” will be broadcast on AX TV! on August 10.
