Guns N’ Roses guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal has formed the KISS tribute band A.L.I.V.E.! with former Pantera bassist Rex Brown, former Whitesnake drummer Brian Tichy, and Kill Devil Hill guitarist Mark Zavon.

The idea for the project came about when they all participated on the KISS tribute A World With Heroes, an album that will be released by PledgeMusic to raise funds for cancer care.

The musicians discovered that they all share a love for the early KISS albums from the seventies. "Hearing the KISS Alive! album at the age of five is what made me want to play guitar and join a band. I’m looking forward to playing the songs that launched my life," said Bumblefoot in a statement released by PledgeMusic.

Reportedly, Thal's voice sounds remarkably similar to that of Paul Stanley.

A.L.I.V.E.! are getting ready to play The Whiskey in Hollywood on July 24, and LVCS in Las Vegas on July 25.
