The much-anticipated film about soul legend James Brown will feature 42 star Chadwick Boseman in the lead role. Boseman, who earned praise for his performance as baseball great Jackie Robinson, will portray Brown as he lived over a period of several decades. Mick Jagger’s film company, Jagged Films, is one of the producers of the bio-pic, which will also cast actors in the roles of Keith Richards, Little Richard and Jagger himself. Director Tate Taylor, known for his Oscar-winning adaptation of 2011’s The Help, is set to begin filming in Mississippi this fall. Actors previously considered for the role of Brown included Eddie Murphy and Wesley Snipes. Taylor appears confident Boseman is up to the task. “Those are big shoes to fill,” he said, of Brown.
