Alice Cooper drummer Glen Sobel has been forced to sit out a few weeks worth of shows due to a persistent neck condition.
Taking Sobel’s place for the time being is former Joe Satriani drummer Jonathan Mover.
“Glen Sobel’s been having some neck problems, and has been playing the shows in a lot of pain,” Cooper said. “Because of this, he needs to take a short break to heal. Luckily for us, and for you, Jonathan Mover (from the Trash tour and the Trashes the World live concert video) was available to help out on short notice. We rehearsed with Jonathan yesterday in New York City and we’re all excited about tonight’s show in Camden with him. We’re looking forward to having Glen back soon.”
With Alice currently on tour with Iron Maiden, Sobel said he was glad the drum chair was being kept warm by a fellow Alice Cooper alumnus. “I have the utmost confidence that he will deliver the goods along with all my brothers (and sister) in the Alice band,” Sobel said. “Don’t worry about me, I’ll be back sooner than later.” Sobel says he expects to be back with the band in July.
