John Mayer has been sidelined from touring due to surgery to repair a granuloma in his throat. But now the guitarist is getting ready to hit the road again. We previously reported on Mayer's return to the stage with an appearance at a charity concert in Montana back in January.
Mayer has announced a U.S. summer tour from July to October, which also includes a couple of shows in South America. The tour officially kicks off on July 6 in Milwaukee, after a couple of warm up dates in Alabama, and New Orleans, and ends with a show at the Hollywood Bowl on October 5. With such an extensive tour scheduled (43 dates, not counting the warm-up shows) Mayer must really be confident that his voice problems are finally over.
Mayer is eager to get back on stage again according to a recent interview with Rolling Stone: "There were days and weeks and literally months of not doing anything, and running out of things to do when there's nothing to do. For me to get back onstage and play again, it's just like, 'Oh right, this is what I'm able to do. This is what I've been able to do while I was watching a whole bunch of Westerns every night and making rice bowls with chicken.' It's been very fun to uncover it and rediscover it again."
