Kings of Chaos

The touring "supergroup" Kings of Chaos are set to perform at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles on November 18. The band consists of ex Guns N' Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan, and Matt Sorum, as well as Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple fame, long time Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens, and Slipknot mainman Corey Taylor. The band will do a two hour set featuring music from Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver, Deep Purple, and more. Additional guests will include Juliette Lewis, Les Stroud, and Gary Dourdan.

The performance is billed as "Tokyo Celebrates The Dolphin," and proceeds from the show go to Ric O'Barry's Dolphin Project, which is aimed at saving dolphins from slaughter and exploitation. According to O'Barry, the event will be repeated in Tokyo at a later date: "This is a rehearsal for the BIG one. We plan on taking 'Tokyo Celebrates the Dolphin' to Japan," O'Barry said. "We'll add a few Japanese friends to our lineup and rock the socks off Tokyo. There isn't a better way to bring Westerners and Japanese people together than rock and roll and the world should also know about the wonderful relationship between Japanese people and dolphins in the Tokyo Islands."

Matt Sorum also commented on the upcoming show: "I'm thrilled to bring a bunch of superstars together for a fun night with fans," said Sorum. The drummer was also quick to point out the focus of the event: "The main thing is to keep creating awareness for the Dolphin Project and everyone involved."

According to the band's website, Kings of Chaos also inlcude Alter Bridge and Slash collaborator Myles Kennedy, as well as Joe Elliot of Def Leppard, and former Guns N' Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke. However, it has not been reported whether these three musicians will be part of the gig at Avalon Hollywood. It will be the only North American concert for the band this year.
