Gary Clark Jr. will support Kings Of Leon in 2014. Clark is currently completing his own sold-out U.S. tour as headliner, but will join KOL from February 5 2014.
Epiphone-playing Clark is gathering pace as a new star. He has two songs on the just-released soundtrack to the movie 12 Years A Slave. The soundtrack, Music From And Inspired By 12 Years A Slave, was curated by John Legend.
Clark contributes a pair of songs, “When The Sun Goes Down,” which has been covered by an array of artists since the mid-'30s, including Lonnie Johnson and Big Maceo. Clark also covers “Freight Train,” written by Elizabeth Cotten and covered by Joan Baez, Pete Seeger, and more.
Kings Of Leon’s Mechanical Bull album, their sixth, was a U.K #1 and U.S #2 in September.
