Halestorm singer/guitarist Lzzy Hale is out on the road and celebrating her love for her signature Gibson Explorer. Hale is a long-time fan of Gibson guitars. “My first Gibson ever was a white Les Paul Custom. It was in 2000 and later I received a 1999 Tobacco Burst. I got it from my parents for Christmas and it was because I always wanted the Les Paul. I was around 17 and since then I’ve been obsessed with the White Les Paul. Later I got a Firebird V, an Explorer, a couple of Les Paul Customs and a Melody Maker.”
Now, though, she’s more than happy with her custom-made one-off Gibson Explorer. In white and gold, it’s about as cool as an Explorer will ever be. Watch below, where Hale explains to Total Guitar why the double-bound / neck-bound Explorer rocks her world. “It’s a classy biy-atch!” she smiles, while talking about buckle rash on her Explorer’s back and other road-wear. “The thing about Gibsons is,” Lzzy reckons, “the more screwed up they are the better they look!” Agree?
