Thanks to Mother Nature Network, we can share the most incredible “guitar” story of this week.
An Argentinian man has been growing a forest shaped like a guitar, in honor of his late wife. It stretches two-thirds of a mile across Argentina’s Pampas lowlands, and is a guitar shape made of 7,000 living trees. Its outline is visible only from the sky, of course. But it has apparently puzzled passing plane pilots for years. A new satellite photo proves it can even be seen from space.
The “guitar forest” is Pedro Martin Ureta’s tribute to his late wife, Graciela Yraizoz, who died in 1977 at the young age of 25. She loved the guitar, their daughter Soldedad said, so he got to work so his late wife could see it from the heavens. Mr Ureta, we salute you.
