Mumford & Sons may be known for their folk-tinged alternative music, but it looks like frontman Marcus Mumford is stepping into pop territory-- at least for a moment. Justin Timberlake has revealed that he recently got together with Marcus Mumford in the studio, and the two put together some jams that will be featured Timberlake’s new film, Inside Llewyn Davis.
“Marcus and myself, we all kind of worked on the music together and I don’t know any other world where we would have the opportunity to collaborate like that but it was so much fun,” Timberlake told the U.K.’s Capital FM. “So not only will that be a great movie, but the music to it will be fantastic.”
Adding to the connection between Timberlake and Mumford is that Mumford’s wife, Carey Mulligan, is one of the stars of Inside Llewyn Davis. The subject of the film revolves around a singer-songwriter in the New York City folk music community in the 1960s.
