Pearl Jam have announced a US tour for the fall. It will be the band's first proper US tour in three years. Twenty four dates have been announced so far, which also include the band's previously announced appearance at the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans. The tour kicks off in Pittsburgh, PA, on October 11, and includes multiple stops in both Philadelphia and New York City. The band stay on the East Coast throughout October, before heading out west for the remainder of the tour in November. Not surprisingly, the tour wraps up in Pearl Jam's hometown of Seattle, on December 6.
The tour announcement was preceded by a countdown clock on the band's website, and as soon as the tour was announced, a second countdown clock appeared that ends on Thursday July 11, at 3pm Eastern Time. One can only speculate what the band will announce, but it’s possible that it will be the release date for the Pearl Jam's follow-up to 2009's Backspacer, or at least the first single from the upcoming album.
