Red Hot Chili Peppers have been named as part of the half-time entertainment for the Super Bowl XLVIII next month.
RHCP will share the coveted halftime gig with Bruno Mars at the Metlife Stadium in Rutherford, New Jersey on February 2. They'll warm up with a show in Brooklyn, New York for Big Hello To Brooklyn.
Drummer Chad Smith seems to already be in the Super Bowl spirit, tweeting a picture of Super Bowl XLVIII - printed Red Hot Chili Pepper drum sticks.
The two Super Bowl weekend shows are part of only a handful of live dates the band plans for 2014, including a benefit for the Philippines in February, Lollapalooza dates in Chile and Argentina in March and April, and a couple of shows in Colombia and Puerto Rico in April.
