Bassist Billy Fuller recently demonstrated how his brand new Gibson EB Four-String Bass came to the rescue as he was tracking a new song for his longtime boss, Robert Plant. “There was one track, and I was trying loads of basses on it, and I couldn’t get anything to ‘bed in’,” the acclaimed musician explains. “I had [the EB bass] in the back of the car. I said, ‘Okay, let’s try this new Gibson bass.’ As soon as I plugged it in … it bedded in straight away—sounded great.” Fuller marveled that an instrument street-priced at less than $1,000 could offer such sustain and playability. “I’m really happy with it,” he noted.
