The Foo Fighters have announced their return from their thankfully brief hiatus, with two shows confirmed so far at the 55,000 capacity Foro Sol stadium in Mexico City.
And they enlisted the help of CHiPS star Erik Estrada to make the announcement.
The shows take place on December 11 and 13, with support from Ohio indie rockers The National.
The Foo Fighters announced their hiatus in October last year, but obviously the lure of the road was too strong to sustain any kind of extended break. And bass player Chris Shiflett has confirmed that the band plans to go much further than simply playing a show. “We actually just started making a new Foo Fighters record within the last few weeks,” he said. “We've started rehearsing.” Shiflett added, “It was a very short hiatus. We're going to start recording the new Foo Fighters record at the beginning of next year.”
