Stone Sour’s new single, “Tired,” is holding steady on the rock charts and a video has been released.
Switching gears to guitars, it’s no secret that Corey Taylor is a big fan of Les Pauls. I recently chatted with Taylor about his guitar of choice.
“When I think of rock ‘n’ roll or heavy metal, I think of Gibson,” he said. “I think of people standing on stage with those Les Pauls. Something about a Les Paul has always made it my favorite. Maybe it’s because when you plug it into a Marshall and crank it up, you get a naturally awesome and gravely rock sound.”
He added, “To me, it’s embedded in my mind that a Les Paul is synonymous with rock and heavy metal. And it doesn’t feel like you’re going to break it. I like heavier guitars because you get a nice, darker tone from them.”
Stone Sour’s House of Gold & Bones albums are out now.
