U2

U2 remains hard at work on their forthcoming new album, tentatively set for release this summer. Speaking to Rolling Stone, The Edge said the veteran rockers have about 30 songs “in various states of being finished,” with “six or seven [of those] mixed and ready to go.” He added that a common thread holds the material together—specifically, themes related to “the period of music, in our lives and history, when we really came into being, turned on by music, the seeds that made us want to be in a band.”

The veteran guitarist—who was in New York performing with U2 for Jimmy Fallon’s debut as host of The Tonight Show—went on to say U2 is determined to get the songs “right.” “That’s the only reason we’re not on tour,” he said, “because we’re so good at starting, not so good at finishing. That’s always the way it’s been.”
