Whoops! Even Beck's Record Label Can't Decipher His Lyrics

02.01.2008

Beck

This past Tuesday, Beck released a deluxe reissue of his seminal 1996 album, Odelay. Except it wasn't really that deluxe, as the first pressing was shipped with the incorrect lyrics. Reportedly pulled from a website and not checked with the artist before being included, the lyrics contain one particular oversight that's really got Beck fans outraged. The lyrics for "The New Pollution" were misprinted as "She's alone in a new delusion" instead of "She's alone in the new pollution." Whoop-sie!

Beck responded with a statement on Thursday, apologizing for the "unfortunate oversight" and announcing that the correct lyrics will be made available on Beck.com.
